Dance Movement Therapy (MA)
In 2019 I graduated from my Master in Dance Movement Therapy at Codarts Rotterdam, with an internship in psycho-geriatric setting and additionally acute psychiatry at the UMC Utrecht. In the past five years I have worked as a Clinical Dance Movement Therapist (MA) in psychiatric intensive care settings focussing on long term treatment guiding adults, teenagers, children and families on their path of recovery of trauma and mental illness. My clinical expertise as arts based and body oriented therapist lies on early childhood and attachment trauma, complex trauma, personality disorders, dissociation, and multiple personality disorders.
My aim is to focus on creating a safe space for anyone willing to dive deep, transform and get to know oneself through the wisdom of the body and the art and medicine of dance. Re-connecting with the body, heart and underlying emotions, learning how to regulate the nervous system and allow movement, dance and art to give shape and meaning to the previously unconscious processes. I offer both group and individual dance movement therapy, along with psycho-education, lectures, team building and workshops.

In parallel I am learner in the Discipline of Authentic Movement by Janet Adler, deepening my practice on embodied consciousness, dancing between the conscious and unconscious with my dear teacher Céline Gimbrère. The connection to Spirit and energetic phenomena is an inseparable part of my work and guidance.
I also have the great pleasure to work as Research Coordinator at the Master of Arts Therapies at Codarts Rotterdam, where I integrate my expertise as Therapist, Dancer and Teacher with Science and ongoing Research studies.
As part of my Master study I conducted a Research and wrote my Thesis to be downloaded here:
Dancer, Performer, Artist
In the past twelve years I have been working as a professional contemporary dance performer (BA) in Europe and the Middle East, both in State Theatres and as `a Freelance ```Artist. `i have always been fascinated by the embodiment of mental and emotional states as source of inspiration, movement research and creation. `As a performer and co-creator my art is intricately connected to my work as dance movement therapist. My main inspiration is the multidimensionality of characters, emotions and states held and experienced within our being channelled through the body as an experiential and expressive art form. The experience of the connection and disconnection between the multidimensional self and each other stands central in my craft.

Teaching
As a teacher I share my expertise and insights as a non-verbal, body oriented and creative therapist as much as performer. In the past 7 years I have given workshops and lectures in different Universities (Codarts, HAN) and Psychiatric institutions (UMCU, Fivoor, PG). It is to me of great importance to offer a verbal and non-verbal exploration space where the learning topics can also be experiences and explored through the Body and the collective, as a guiding force in the learning process.
